Verified August 29, 2026 · Patch #5 / build 24750322
This is a visual reference, not an interactive world map. It tells you which symbol definition exists in this build and how the game groups it. Only five legend effects have matching in-game explanatory text, so the remaining icons are identified without inventing damage, reward, movement, or mission rules.
Quick answer: what the tactical map icons show
The IRON NEST map in build 24750322 contains 70 visible serialized icon definitions. That count comes from 71 MapEntityIcon records in the installed game files, with the non-visible Invisible placeholder removed. Every listed record has a unique build ID and a unique linked Sprite.
How the 70 IRON NEST map icons are grouped
The installed build resolves to five visible groups: 34 enemy, 29 friendly, 2 neutral, 4 reference-point, and 1 crosshair definition. The source data misspells Friendly as Frendly and Reference as Refrence; this page corrects those words for readers while retaining the original build IDs in code style for traceability.
These 70 icon definitions are not the same thing as the site’s 92 extracted entity types. The icon table describes serialized visual definitions. The entity registry aggregates types found across mission data. Neither number should be substituted for the other.
The game also contains modifiers and legend concepts such as Underground, High-Priority, Structure, and Fire Director. A modifier can change what an icon communicates without creating a new named base icon in this 70-record set.

71 unique MapEntityIcon ID-to-Sprite links; 70 visible after excluding Invisible.
Each published row must display the original Sprite, the reader-facing name, the exact build ID, its group, and build 24750322. Image alt text follows the form “IRON NEST map icon for [reader-facing name].” The names below are the complete visible set for this build. Reference Point identifies a labelled point used by mission information and plotting tasks. Underground — AP Required. This is the build’s legend wording. Use the shell-selection reference for broader ammunition decisions. High-Priority — Additional Requisition Points. The build confirms an additional reward, but not a universal fixed value. Structure — Immobile. This describes the legend category; it does not guarantee that old coordinates remain correct after every mission-state change. Fire Director — Pauses CBT. For the complete counter-battery rules, use the Counter-Battery guide.
Grid and map measurements: what is verified
The official mission-loop description places tactical-map measurements after teleprinter interpretation and before the ballistic calculator. That confirms the map’s job: turn target information into measurements that can move into the firing workflow.
Community tutorials describe a large grid, smaller subdivisions, coloured pencils, and compass-assisted plotting. The installed teaching artwork also visibly uses a grid. However, this audit did not recover authoritative runtime fields for a fixed 20×10 grid or 10×10 subgrid, so this page does not publish those dimensions as a current-build rule.
The tactical table includes physical map interactions and built-in plotting tools. The installed manual artwork shows line drawing, bearing measurement, and triangulation concepts, but the exact runtime behaviour of every pencil colour and marker combination is not fully verified here.
A separately distributed “Tactical Map Tools” package found in search results is a third-party Mod, not part of the built-in map table. Use the Mods guide for loader, compatibility, and rollback boundaries. This icon reference does not endorse or reproduce that tool.
Shared icons, modifiers, and version limits
An icon can be meaningful only in its mission context. In a developer troubleshooting message dated August 16, 2026, Final Harvest’s Ref Alpha and Waypoint A were reported to use the same icon. That is a named case for that mission and date, not proof that every repeated symbol is interchangeable.
Likewise, visible frame colour or shape should not be treated as a fully decoded allegiance or modifier rule until the runtime connection is reproduced. The raw Sprites prove which visual definitions exist. They do not, by themselves, prove every spawning condition, reward, armor value, or mission objective attached to a symbol.
Where to go after identifying a symbol
Use Field Data evidence labels to understand how build data, in-game text, community reports, and unverified findings differ.
Use shell selection when a legend effect such as Underground changes the ammunition question.
This reference is complete for the serialized visible MapEntityIcon definitions found in build 24750322. A later patch may add, remove, rename, or reconnect records. Report a mismatch through the site correction link so the build baseline can be reviewed.
IRON NEST map FAQ
How many visible map icon definitions are in IRON NEST?
Build 24750322 contains 70 visible serialized definitions: 34 enemy, 29 friendly, 2 neutral, 4 reference-point, and 1 crosshair icon. The installed files contain a 71st Invisible placeholder, which is excluded from the visible count.
Why does another data set contain 92 entities?
The two counts describe different schemas. The 70-item index comes from MapEntityIcon records linked to Sprites. The 92-item registry aggregates entity types found across mission data. Ninety-two is not the icon count.
Does Underground always mean I need AP?
The build’s map legend says Underground — AP Required. Treat that as the legend effect for a marked target, not as a complete shell-versus-target matrix for every mission and mode.
How many requisition points does a High-Priority target give?
The legend confirms additional requisition points, but this evidence does not establish one fixed reward for every target, mission, or mode.
Are the grid dimensions 20 by 10?
Not as a verified current-build rule. Community material describes those dimensions, but the audit did not recover matching runtime grid fields. The page therefore shows the uncertainty instead of promoting the number to build data.
Is Tactical Map Tools built into IRON NEST?
No. The similarly named package found on a Mod distribution page is third-party software. The game’s physical tactical table and built-in plotting tools are separate.
Can two objectives use the same icon?
Yes in at least one dated, mission-specific case: a developer reported that Final Harvest’s Ref Alpha and Waypoint A shared an icon on August 16, 2026. Do not generalize that case without checking the current mission state.
